  1. Final Four Ticket Data Extravaganza

    The undercard to that Big Ten- Big 12 showdown certainly merits marquee billing. It’s a heated Bluegrass State rivalry between two teams that hate each other: Kentucky and Louisville. The data shows that a majority of our buyers are from Kentucky and by a large margin. Roughly 40% of all tickets bought on StubHub for the Final Four are from Kentucky! This is compared to only 4% from Ohio and less than 3% from Kansas. Here is the full state buyer breakdown:

     *   Kentucky – 37%

     *   Louisiana – 9%

     *   Texas – 6%

     *   Florida/Ohio – each 4%

     *   Pennsylvania/Missouri/Tennessee – each 3%

     *   The rest < 3% (including Kansas)

    The city of Louisville also leads the way with 19 percent of tickets purchased. Strangely enough, the city of Philadelphia is next in line with 3 percent of tickets purchased. Every other city in America is below that threshold.

    When it comes to ticket purchases of the Final Four Strip (Semifinals and Finals), fans from Kentucky are hedging their bets and purchasing over 31% of all Final Four Strip sales. While a handful of those tickets are probably Louisville fans as well, it’s safe to assume that if the Kentucky Wildcats are upset in the Semifinals, expect a significant price drop for tickets to the Finals. Remember that StubHub will have tickets available for all the games this weekend, even up to the last minute. If you’re in New Orleans, come down to the Sugar Mill (across from the Convention Center) and buy/sell your tickets safely and securely at our Last Minute Ticketing Center. We’ll be set-up throughout the entire weekend!

    Any predictions for the games? Well, I don’t have a team in the fight, but I’ll root for our two partners: Louisville and Kansas. I hope they both pull off wins and meet in the National Championship. Good luck to all and I’m looking forward to an exciting weekend of basketball!
