  1. StubHub Announces Renewal of MLB Partnership

Today’s guest blogger is Shannon Barbara, who is filling in for Jo while she’s out

You may have heard this already, but I have exciting news to report: we have renewed our agreement with Major League Baseball for five more years! This means that we will continue to be the Official Fan to Fan Ticket Marketplace for all MLB and the best place to shop when looking for baseball tickets through 2017.

We first partnered with MLB back in 2007, and at the time it was the first league-wide agreement we’d entered into. We’ve learned a lot over the last five years of the partnership, and we look forward to seeing where the next five years take us. But, most importantly, we are excited to continue providing a safe, reliable, convenient ticket marketplace for fans, and to introducing other innovative technology that will make their experience even better.

I personally can’t wait for the new season to start! Jo will hate me for this, but go Giants!

For more information on our announcement, you can read the full press release here.

  2. Tumblr starts today…

Hi, I’m Joellen Ferrer from StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace. If you’re not already aware, StubHub gives fans access to tickets for sports, concerts and theater events — we’re talking roughly 30k events and 20 million tickets on any given day. Since we’re a ticket marketplace dependent largely on ticket supply and demand (à la our parent company, eBay), we’re able to identify the most popular events in the nation each week according to what fans are buying on StubHub.

I’ll be using this page to keep you “In The Know” about the hottest news in sports and concert events each week. For example, already thinking about going to the Super Bowl? I can let you know what trends we’re seeing and how it’s shaping up compared to previous years. By the same token, I often see tickets listed on StubHub for as low as a dollar for games — for example New Jersey Nets tickets are the cheapest in the NBA and can usually be found for less than $1!

Check in with me on Tumblr and on Twitter for all things StubHub. Much more to come. Looking forward to keeping you all “In The Know.”
